In a nationally publicized, hard-fought case, Stephen Ross Johnson obtained not guilty verdicts on all counts for a former University of Tennessee football star accused of aggravated rape. Pre-trial, Johnson achieved a landmark ruling by the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals on a key evidentiary issue involving access to the accuser’s internet messaging and cell phone communications. Johnson led a trial team which included RDDJ associate Tyler Caviness. After nearly two weeks of proceedings, the jury took less than two hours to reach its verdict.
